Still Human by Hunter Blackwell

holy: that’s the only thing, only way to describe her-- so close to heaven but still on earth. what had she done; what sin(s) had she committed? green: like the forest floor           like moss on the side of a tree. somehow holy, and human, still human.

Hunter Blackwell is a graduate of The College of William and Mary with a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Creative Writing. Her previous work has appeared in Rose Quartz and forthcoming in The Write Launch. She was selected for 2018 Gorowny Owen Price for Group of Poems and 2017 Newton Blanchard Fiction Endowment from the College. While she is not writing or obsessively editing at two in the morning, she is watching the latest Marvel movie and series. She currently resides in Hampton, VA. She’s a queer writer, who obsesses over Marvel and looks for new crackpot recipes. Her twitter can be reached at https://twitter.com/hun_blackwell
