2 poems by Ada Pelonia

you are a woman

you are a woman

 not because you like pink

 or played Barbie dolls

or curled your hair at prom

 or liked jocks with hairstyles

 like that of a hedgehog

 or inserted tampons in your

 vagina

or because you have a vagina

you are a woman

 because you identify yourself

 as one

entree

spittle dripping,

thrusting gradually

slowing in its course

   pop   the sound

sounds like a bottle

cap newly opened

then   stop.

you are done now.

done for. a total goner

only after the thrill of

being inside, hormones

in rage, waiting for another

pop to get off. to finish.

then     none.

another flaccid plastic

hurled at the bin.

    trash.   perceiving

moans as erasers & grunts

as chasers where you get

by after a lick of lime and a

pinch of salt and wish that

after a loud shrill,

problems get drowned

by itself.
