sacredness  swelling  in the gap between a girl’s lips and the concave of another’s throat

where lace quivered and tickled in anticipation all day  for this for  right now

and the girl(the one who is kissing)thinks she(the one being kissed)is heaven’s articulation.

Ivy Clarke is an emerging poet from Georgia, where she is studying Creative Writing and English Literature at Mercer University. Her work often explores trauma, queer love, and family, and has appeared in The Dulcimer. She is an intern at Macon Magazine and a preceptor for English courses at Mercer. When Ivy is not writing or reading poetry, she is drinking iced coffee and getting lost in her own city.
